The reproduction of euro banknotes or peseta banknotes and coins, or of images of them, must be authorised by the Banco de España. The regulations affect all banknotes and coins that have been or currently are legal tender in Spain.

Enquiries regarding the interpretation and implementation of the banking regulation and disciplinary rules applicable to entities supervised by the Banco de España (excluding those related to market conduct, banking transparency and customer protection, accounting, and financial and prudential reporting requirements).

The Banco de España exchanges low denomination banknotes and coins for higher denomination ones. It also does the opposite: exchanging higher denominations for lower ones.

The Banco de España offers training courses to professional cash handlers and retail employees. These courses explain the security features of euro banknotes and coins, the conditions for putting them into circulation and the procedures for checking their authenticity and fitness according to the Eurosystems rules.
